Conference Programme
Rugby Expo 2010 provides the platform for a significant number of high profile and influential speakers from the world of rugby union and league as well as international sport and business that will come together to discuss and debate the key issues facing the game both today and in the future.
The programme is designed to provide thought provoking and engaging debate and discussion in the main conference hall holding upto 250 delegates with all the sessions open to everyone attending.
The conference programme aims to fully represent the issues and challenges being faced by both the professional and grass roots games. While there is significant cross over of content, we recognise the need for specifically designed sessions and so day one of the conference will give a greater emphasis to the professional game and day two, the grass roots.
Each session will contain a series of high profile speakers and panellists providing expert insight and opinion from across the world of domestic, international, land grass roots rugby as well as commercial and financial services and other professional sports.
The conference programme will ensure the event is a 'must attend' for anyone involved in the sport.
The confirmed conference sessions are as follows;
World in union
The role of the IRB Rugby World Cup in driving and supporting the development of rugby worldwide.
Olympic opportunity
How Rugby Sevens and the Olympic Games will create aspirations and opportunities for established as well as emerging nations to shine on the world stage.
Learning from the success of other sports
Rugby’s professional development has changed the game for ever. But what lessons can it learn from other established and successful sports as it plots a course for the future.
Making rugby box office
How can rugby maximise TV and digital media rights for greater coverage, profile and revenue.
Developing and implementing successful rugby business models
The lessons for Premiership, Championship and National Divisional Clubs.
Club question time
Experts in marketing, developing club membership and finances share their experience and insight as they answer questions from grass roots clubs.
What price for integrity?
Is the integrity central to ‘brand rugby’ in jeopardy? Panellists discuss the importance of rugby’s core values and ways of maintaining them.
In addition, more conference sessions will be announced shortly along side a series of planned workshops also being designed.
